Ardmore Football Preview: Offense – Presented by Owens Insurance

Head Coach – Josh Newby

2021: 9-2

Five starters return on offense for the Tigers including one of the state’s top quarterbacks in Cal Swanson (6-2, 185, Sr.). A true-dual threat, Swanson committed to the University of Illinois during the summer on the heels of a stellar junior campaign. Swanson completed 67 percent of his passes to go along with 28 touchdowns and he’s just as dangerous on his feet. Eric Fields (6-2, 185, Sr.) will share time with C.J Williams (5-10, 180, Sr.) at running back. Fields will be utilized in a full-time role at linebacker but is too valuable not to see action on offense. Williams had several big games as a junior including a 129-yard, two touchdown effort against Duncan. Shedrick Jones (6-3, 245, Sr.) is the Tigers’ highest graded offensive lineman at right tackle. Jones is a two-year starter and a physical blocker. Kayden Blansett (6-6, 295, Sr.) is a perfect fit at left tackle. Blansett possesses the size and mobility to protect Swanson. Matthew Sheehy (5-10, 240, Sr.) returns to his post at right guard with Fermin Avila (6-0, 245, Sr.) at center. Avila drew high praise from the coaching staff for balancing work responsibilities with those of playing football all the while displaying a great attitude.
