Davis’ Kavan Bolding – FFA Spotlight – Presented By Oklahoma AgCredit

Kavan Bolding is a senior at Davis High School and a member of the local FFA chapter. Being part of the Future Farmers of America was something Bolding was destined to do.

“I have been involved in the FFA for five years now and my parents got me involved with agriculture when I was around eight years old. We’ve always had animals, but I was eight when I started showing and feeding my own animals,” said Bolding.

As the current chapter treasurer, Kavan enjoys several things about his FFA chapter. From showing livestock to livestock production and turf grass, Bolding has continued to make the most of every opportunity the FFA has to offer.

“I enjoy showing livestock, leadership opportunities, meeting new people and growing as a person,” Bolding said.

Bolding is a four-sport athlete at Davis High School and has earned his share of awards. A four-year high school football player, Bolding was named to the 2021-22 All-District team and was an OFCA All-Star offensive lineman. He’s wrestled for four years, ran track for two and one year in powerlifting.
“I love the commitment and dedication we all had to get better every single day. I loved the work ethic we all had. Our coaches are fully invested in our success on and off the field,” said Bolding. “My favorite memory as a student-athlete was on my senior night when the game was almost over and our second-string guys were out there putting work in. Some little kids in the stands were yelling my number and when I turned around, they were asking me for a high-five, so I walked over there and gave them one and I’ll never forget that moment. It really showed me how much the younger kids look up to the athletes at their school.”
Bolding said his father has been a big influence in his life.

“He was always my biggest fan, and he would do anything to help me with whatever I was doing at the time. He has always influenced me to try my hardest and be the best version of myself I can be and I’m forever grateful for that,” said Bolding.

His future includes attending Murray State and majoring in manufacturing technology.
