Boone-Apache’s Maci Hix – Chickasha Hometown Hero 2022 – Presented By Farm Credit of Western OK

Maci Hix will be a senior in the fall at Apache High School. She is a cheerleader for the Warriors and initially joined as a way to spend time with her friends.

“Any time spent with my teammates is a favorite memory,” she said. “My teammates are very important to me; they are all my best friends and I’m so blessed to have each of them.”

In addition to cheer and her academics, Maci is a manager of the school’s baseball team and a staff member of the school news publication, The Warrior Tribune. Outside of school she maintains a busy schedule as well. She is the youngest member of the Apache Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture, a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Warrior Blessing Box Committee. She owns and operates her own business, Maci’s On Main, a brick and mortar gift shop/boutique on Main Street of Apache. She says that she tries her best to incorporate it into giving back to her community.

“I look up to our towns vice-mayor, Robin Lunsford the most. She has made a very big impact on me as a person and my involvement in my community,” said Maci. “As a member in my community, I’ve seen amazing changes in our town just by having people involved, I will continue to support and do everything I can to make my town a better place.”

Maci’s mother is very proud of her and all she has accomplished at the young age of 16.

“She is involved in so much with her community,” said Maci’s mom, Chab Hix. “You’ll find her in the crowd of every city council meeting. You’ll see her in the paper almost every week. Recently Maci held a stocking stuffer event at her store to benefit her class. In 2020, Maci along with the five other members of the Warrior Blessing Box Committee, donated an Apache Warrior Beanie to every enrolled Boone-Apache student. This year she donated 45 more to our pre-k students. Maci was also a mastermind behind Apache’s Fourth of July and Christmas events. She is a class act and has such a bright future!”

After high school, Maci plans to attend college and pursue an elementary education degree and a business management degree.
