Marlow’s Bradyn Brantley – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Marcus McEntire State Representative

Marlow High School sophomore Bradyn Brantley is a two-sport athlete playing both football and golf for the Outlaws. Brantley hopes to one day follow in the footsteps of his older sister.

“I really enjoy playing golf with my family and doing youth group activities at my church. My family is the most important thing to me in my life. I can remember countless times being so excited by going to family functions, and spending time with my cousins and grandparents,” Brantley said. “My family has a really long history of teaching and coaching. My parents both taught for years, and my dad coached for 25 years until he took the athletic director position here at Marlow. My sister, Blair, graduated from OSU not long ago and has inspired me to do the same as she did.”

Family is important to Brantley. His grandfather has been a role model for him since childhood.

“My biggest role model is probably my grandpa because he is the most kind and compassionate person I know. He was a Vietnam veteran which really amazed me,” said Brantley.

Being part of the football and golf teams at Marlow is something Brantley has enjoyed. The defensive end said he enjoys competing against his teammates in practice and competing together in games.

“There is a teammate named Isaac Willis, or as I like to call him, Chief Willis. We have always gone against each other in practice and are always trying to one-up each other,” said Brantley.

The success the football team achieved is something Brantley and his teammates are proud of.

“It has taken me a lot of hard work, practice, and dedication to be successful,” said Brantley. “We were 15-0 in our season, and we won the Class 2A State Championship. That was the highlight of the year.”

Brantley is also involved in FFA, student council, Safety and Health Committee and the Gifted and Talented program.
