Kickin’ It Around with Pike Butler – Presented by RibCrib

VYPE: What are your goals for yourself and your team this season?

Pike: My goals for myself is to work hard and give my team everything I have, as a team we plan to win every game and take state…

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

Pike: I would have to say the times where I have had the most fun this past year have been the everyday moments spent with my friends. I am trying to live in the moment as much as I can and in doing so I have had a blast.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade or coach and why?

Pike: I would have to say the coach who has had the biggest impact on my life is my soccer coach Damon Mantooth. I have been playing for Mantooth since I was eight years old, and he has taught me how to work hard and has pushed me to live up to my fullest potential both in sports and academics.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

Pike: The best athletic memories I have come from playing on my high school soccer 2020 team. It was so fun and rewarding playing on such a tight knit and elite team, my only wish is that we could have finished that season.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Pike: The player who has left the biggest impression on me is our captain, Quentin Mantooth. Everything he does is for the betterment of the team from his work ethic to his inclusion of the whole team it truly is an honor to be both his teammate and a friend.

VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?

Pike: The player who has the best impression of our coach is Zalyn “Swag Daddy Z” Bryant. Zalyn is always able to lighten the mood with his “inspirational speech’s” after a hard practice. The player who says the funniest things on the field is definitely Malik “Jr.” Gallimore. His smack talk is always goofy and constantly makes me laugh.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Pike: My favorite place to be is outdoors so if I could go anywhere for vacation it would have to be one of the many National Parks that are in the U.S. The people I would take with me would be my dad and my little brother. Going to the national parks would be a great way to spend time with them

VYPE: If you had $500 and had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?

Pike: l would use the $500 dollars to buy a lot of food and then invite my friends over and spend time playing video games and watching movies with them.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Pike: I want to thank my parents and my soccer family. I appreciate how they all have always had my back, they all push me to be the best version of myself and I don’t know where I would be without them.
