Brayden Bingham played in his first baseball game when he was about four years old. From that moment he fell in love with the game, and it has been a part of his life ever since. And just like most boys, he had a professional baseball player that he looked up to and wanted to be like, but he says that there were others that impacted his life also.
“When I was a little kid, the player I wanted to look up to the most was Ian Kinsler,” he said. “Whenever I got into junior high, I didn’t have time to watch much television, so my role model became my dad and papa. They love the game of baseball and know so much about it, so I just soaked up all the stuff they knew about the game. Here recently I decided I wanted to become a baseball coach after college, so my new influences are the coaches in my life. My high school coaches are Coach Graham and Coach Wilson while a coach I have known for a while now that has helped me become the player I am today is coach Mike Ross.”
As a senior at Amber-Pocasset High School, Bingham plays first base and is also a pitcher for the Panthers’ baseball team. It has taken a lot for him to become the athlete he is, and he says that he could not have done it alone.
“It has taken a lot of hard work and effort,” he said. “For as long as I can remember, there have been the late-night drives to practices or lessons as well as early morning workouts and all in-between stuff. The support from my friends and family has been key to my growth both as a person and athlete.”
When he looks back on his career so far, Bingham remembers all the good memories that he has made on and off the field with his teammates. But he says that there is one accomplishment that stands out as his favorite.
“I would have to say that the highlight of my career would have to be my first ever high school home run,” he said. “It happened against Binger, and it was a really great feeling to watch the ball go out.”
