Comanche’s Kynli Morris – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Delaine Parker Shelter Insurance

By Derrick Smith

Teammates can become a big part of an ahteltes life. In many cases, a team can be seen almost as a family because of the time that they spend together and the bond that begins to grow. Kynli Morris has a great relationship with her athletic family and says a former teammate is someone that she hopes to model herself after.

“Brooklin Bain is one of my biggest role models,” she said. “I had the opportunity to play with her my freshman year. She holds this title because she proved how successful she could be in not only one, but three sports. She showed up everyday with determination and a passion for the game, she was her own motivation and she always worked hard no matter what.”

Morris is a junior at Comanche High School, where she plays the post position for the Lady Indians basketball team. She also runs track and cross country.

Someone else that has made an impact on Morris’ life would have to be a teacher she had during her freshman year.

“My favorite teacher has been Mrs. Miller,” she said. “She was always full of life lessons and very open about her relationship with Christ. She taught me the importance of stepping out of our comfort zones.”

Over the years, Kynli has invested a lot in order to be the best athlete that she can be. But she knows that you have to put in the work if you want to reach your goals.

“It has taken years of hard work,” she said. “And also many sacrifices to make time for training and always wanting to reach another level of success.”

Though she has had some really memorable moments during her time of playing sports, Morris feels like the best is yet to come.
“I honestly believe that I am still waiting on the highlight movement of my career, “ she stated. “Not to downplay what I have accomplished, but I feel like even better things are in front of me.”

Away from sports, Kynli is a member of the National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America, and the Student Council.
