Dibble Demons Basketball Preview – Presented By First National Bank And Trust

BOYS
Coach: Nick Price
20-21 Record: 13-11

The Dibble Demons are growing as a basketball team…literally. Their progress has head coach Nick Price eager to see what this group can accomplish when they come together and decide as a team they are going to play up to the level they are capable of playing. “This group has experienced success at the junior high level and it excited for the opportunity to continue that success at the high school level,” said coach Price. “Returning only two players with experience and no seniors on the roster will be the main hurdles for this group to overcome.” Eli Rimer (6-1, Jr.) will start at forward where he averaged 9.0 points and 7.0 rebounds last season. His play sets the tone for the team. Conner Pickard (6-0, Jr.) is expected to start giving the Demons another player with some varsity experience on the floor. Brady Ott (6-1, Jr.) will likely see time at forward with Luke Blanchard (6-4, So.). Both are solid players with tremendous potential. Trey Green (6-0, So.) is a young player looking to work his way into the starting lineup. Several freshmen have arrived and are looking to contribute to the overall success of the team. Payten Bailey (6-3, Fr.), Hayden Merrick (5-9, Fr.), Austin Maddox (5-9, Fr.), and Trey Ott (6-0, Fr.) are all eager to get some playing time.

GIRLS
Coach: Jennifer Hayden
20-21 Record: 4-17

Head coach Jennifer Hayden inherits a team looking to rebound from a 4-17 season a year ago. “We are a young team,” said coach Hayden. “With hard work and playing experience, we hope to improve quickly.” Several sophomores will get the opportunity to start this season including guard Kaylei Clanton. Clanton is familiar to the Dibble fans and will likely be the player that sets the tone for the team moving forward. Liv Greene (So.) is another guard who will see plenty of court time this year. Hallie McGaha (So.) will likely start at forward while Macy Merrick (So.) could play a combo type position for coach Hayden. Merrick is a hard worker and is willing to do whatever is asked of her. Merrick is a fighter and her physical play and willingness to go after tough rebounds and loose balls will help this team as they grow together. Also look for Tynlee Mize (So.) another combo type player coach Hayden is excited to see develop.
