In her third year at Cameron University, Paige Lewis is a flyer for the cheer team and an early childhood education major. Making the adjustment from high school to college was an easy one for Lewis, but creating her own schedule and staying organized was the biggest challenge. 

“My biggest adjustment was time management and organization. In high school my schedule was set for me, when I got to college I got to pick my own schedule and figure out how to organize my time to fit in classes, homework, practices and free time,” said Lewis. 

Staying active on campus was one of the goals Lewis set for herself and being part of the cheer team certainly helped her reach that goal. For Lewis, the campus and size of the classrooms are two reasons why she loves being part of the Cameron Nation.

“I have enjoyed Cameron because of the small size and community. Every teacher and coach wants you to succeeded and help in any way the can and ultimately get you to graduation,” said Lewis. 

The former Eisenhower student-athlete said any new freshman coming to Cameron should remember a few things that the school has to offer.

“My advice for freshman going into college is use your resources. College is a lot of work and stressful but if you communicate with professors and other students and ask for help you will have a successful year. Nobody wants you to fail,” said Lewis. 

In her free time, Lewis said she enjoys serving in children’s ministry at her church, doing craft projects and creating things. She also loves spending time with her friends and family.
