Ardmore’s Savannah Marris – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Express Pharmacy

Softball season has started below the expectation Savannah Marris has for herself and her Ardmore Lady Tigers, but she said things are trending up.

“We’ve had some ups and downs but we’re definitely moving the right direction,” Marris said. “We had a rough start with some new players, but as we continue to practice and play games, we’ve come together as a team. Out mindset has improved since the beginning of the season, and we’re more confident in ourselves.”

Marris said she started playing softball at the age of four, but it took a few years before she really picked up the drive for the game she has today.

“I fell in love with the game around 10 when I started playing travel ball,” she said. “I love the competition, the adrenaline I feel from close games, and the support I get from my teammates around me.”

In her free time, Marris said she enjoys sleeping, because her sleep schedule is important to her. She said she also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

“I do plan on going to college,” Marris said. “And hopefully that will include playing softball. I haven’t picked a school or gotten any offers yet. Hopefully by the end of the season I’ll have something more in depth.”

Marris also said she wanted to thank her mom and grandpa for helping her through her softball journey, and her teammates and coaches for always supporting her.
