Jerzee Hill 

Elgin High School 

Elgin High School varsity cheerleader Jerzee Hill is also a member of the FFA chapter at her school. Hill started cheering when she was only four years old. Later as a freshman, she decided to get involved in FFA. 

“It was my mom who encouraged me to join FFA,” said Hill.

There are many things about both cheer and FFA that Hill really enjoys. As a cheerleader, Hill is a flyer and tumbler. 

“I love the rush it gives you when you’re about to go out on the court or when you’re about to throw a tumbling pass. I also love building new friendships,” said Hill.

In FFA, meeting new people and building relationships with others is one of many reasons Hill enjoys being part of the chapter at Elgin High School.

“I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things,” said Hill. “I plan on showing animals this upcoming year. I’m planning on showing goats or cattle.” 

Hill said it was her mother who encouraged her to join the FFA and Hill has enjoyed every moment of being part of this group. 

“My mom has been the biggest influence in my life because she was also in FFA and has always been there to help and push me towards my goals,” said Hill. 

The varsity cheerleader offers this advice to anyone looking to get involved in FFA and learn more about the program and what the members get to do. 

“I would say, don’t listen to what others say. Have fun, make friends and be yourself,” said Hill. 

Hill said she has enjoyed everything about the activities she is involved in at Elgin High School. From cheer to FFA, it’s all about having fun, learning something new and making new friends. 

“I enjoy the family I have made and the laughs we have had,” said Hill.
