WOSC’s Bryce Braly – Western Oklahoma State College Spotlight

This coming softball season at Western Oklahoma State College in Altus, Ok, will be the second season for Chattanooga High School product Bryce Braley who enters her sophomore season excited to see what they can accomplish this year. Braly said the team chemistry is great including players’ relations with the coaching staff.

“What I love most about this team is how close everyone is,” said Braly. “Not just student-to-student relationships but also the relationships I’ve developed with the staff and faculty.”

Having a positive influence in a new location is important for incoming freshmen. Braly said the transition from high school to college was not as hard as she expected it to be.

“Going from high school to college wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be coming from a small town,” said Braly. “Western Oklahoma State College is a tight knit school itself which made it very easy for me to become comfortable there.”

The left-handed outfielder made that transition look seamless going from a school with an enrollment of 65 students to a large college and even larger softball team. Figuring out her major may have been the toughest decision of the year, but Braly decided majoring in Business Administration was the right direction for her.

There are many things about WOSC that Braly loves from her teammates to her professors plus the food she can get at the

grill. Altogether, it makes being a student at WOSC a great experience.

“One thing I love about WOSC is seeing MeMe at the grill. MeMe makes the best burgers and breakfast burritos,” said Braly.

For any new or prospective students coming to Western Oklahoma State College for the first time, Braly offers this advice for them as they enter a new phase in their lives.

“Don’t be scared! Don’t be shy! Have fun and enjoy the college life. You will meet some of your best friends during your time at WOSC,” said Braly.

Away from school you can usually find Braly back home in Chattanooga, or spending time with her teammates and friends from WOSC.

“If I’m not stirring up trouble with my team, you can usually find me in Chatty with my family,” said Braly.

The Western Oklahoma State College softball team will take the field in late February, and you can bet Bryce Braly will be right there helping her team to victory.
