Running back TreVaughn Walton scored the first five touchdowns of the game in the Eagles 52-0 win over Altus. Walton rushed for 234 yards on 14 carries.

OFFENSE

The Eagles are ready to turn the page and surprise a few people this season. They return a majority of starters on both sides of the ball and have worked hard in the off season. Running back TreVaughn Walton (5-10, 185, Sr.) is back after rushing for 1,117 yards and 12 touchdowns last season and will be looked at to help lead the offense. Will Trachte (5-11, 175, Sr.) is back at the quarterback position and will look to be a leader on the field. Offensive linemen Jaeden Poahway (6-2, 285, Sr.) and Marque Woodward (6-0, 245, Sr.) will anchor the line to protect and open holes for Walton and Trachte. After combining for 551 receiving yards and five touchdowns, wide receivers Cory McClelland (5-9, 160, Sr.) and Bryan Crittenden (6-0, 175 Sr.) are ready to make bigger impacts this season and help the Eagles get into the playoffs.

DEFENSE

The Eagle’s defense is bringing back seven starters from last season and they are ready to be stronger than last season. Linebackers Caiden Smalls (5-10, 205, Sr.), Jaden Pierce (5-10, 210, Jr.), and Darius Gray (6-0, 205, Sr.) combined for 174 tackles, three interceptions, and two sacks. The trio is putting in work this offseason and is ready to be the backbone of this defensive squad. Darius Coppage (6-2, 245, Sr.) had an injury shortened season last year, but still ended with twenty-five tackles. He will be joined on the defensive line by Trinity Pewewardy (6-2, 230, Sr.), who had thirty-two tackles. Taking care of things in the secondary will be Micah Wise (5-10, 185, Sr.), who racked up three interceptions a year ago and looks to increase that total this season.
