Duncan’s Kenadi Kelly – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Bank Of Commerce

A student with outstanding leadership and character, Kenadi Kelly is a senior this year at Duncan High School. She stays active by playing basketball in the post position, running the hurdles in track, and cheering on her fellow student athletes as a cheerleader.

“To me sports means pushing yourself and working with your teammates to achieve a common goal,” said Kenadi.

Getting her athletic career started when she was nine years old, Kenadi has been an athlete for a large portion of her life.

“I started playing sports when I was around nine years old because my dad was a coach and always taught us that sports teaches you discipline,” Kenadi said.

Not only is Kenadi a busy athlete she is also an active member of her student body. She is the vice president of SADD, student council secretary, a member of the DHS leadership class, and NHS.

Balancing her sports activities, club duties, and school work can be difficult at times but Kenadi has a great work ethic that helps her get through it all.

“I remember the goals that I have in life and how hard I am going to have to work to achieve them and that helps me push through the difficult times,” Kenadi said.

Her drive and determination comes from watching her wonderful parents as she has grown up.

“My parents inspire me by how hard they have worked for our family, and how kind they are to everyone they meet,” said Kenadi. “I hope that I grow up to be as giving and selfless as they are.”

Growing up in Duncan Kenadi has played several sports, but cheer holds a special place in her heart.

“My favorite part about cheerleading is getting to go and cheer at all the sporting events,” said Kenadi. “Getting to spend time with my teammates and increasing Duncan spirit in the school and community.”

After graduation Kenadi plans to attend college in pursuit of a career in either speech pathology or sonography.
