Apache’s Mason McDaniel – Caddo Kiowa Tech Athletes

Apache High School’s Mason McDaniel is a junior and a member of the varsity baseball team. The starting pitcher also attends classes with Caddo Kiowa Technology Center where he is enrolled in the Welding Program.

McDaniel is a two-sport athlete and is currently enjoying a solid baseball season having won 10 games with big wins over Wayne, Dibble, and Wynnewood to name a few. McDaniel and his teammates were excited to return to the field after missing last season due to the pandemic.

Away from sports, McDaniel turns his attention to his welding class at Caddo Kiowa Tech. Welding is something McDaniel would like to do in the future as a career and Caddo Kiowa Tech is helping him achieve that goal.

“I want to be a welder,” said McDaniel. “That’s why this class at Caddo Kiowa Tech was the right one for me. I enjoy having fun in class and learning the different welding techniques.”

McDaniel is making plans for life after graduation, which will include pursuing a career as a welder and staying close to home.

“Right now, my plans after high school are to get a job as a welder and stay around Apache,” said McDaniel.

The welding program at Caddo Kiowa Tech gives its students the opportunity to learn a valuable skill which is in high demand in the workforce. McDaniel said he is looking forward to using his skills learned at Caddo Kiowa Tech and start earning a good living.

“I am taking the welding course because it’s fun and you can make good money as a welder,” said McDaniel. “Caddo Kiowa Tech gave me a chance to find a trade I liked.”

The baseball and football player said anyone looking to learn a trade that will give them the opportunity to enter the workforce with a valuable skill, should look into the programs at Caddo Kiowa Tech.

In his free time, McDaniel said he enjoys hunting, fishing and driving around town.
