Chad Little is a senior at Carnegie High School and a member of the FFA chapter. Little started in FFA while in middle school.
“I started in FFA when I was in the eighth grade. It was my first year to be in FFA. I began my career with market hogs,” said Little. “My Ag teacher Mr. Ronnie Nix encouraged me to join the chapter along with a couple of upperclassmen.”
As a member of FFA, Little said he has enjoyed being around others with similar interests and getting to know FFA members from other schools and states.
“I enjoy being around the people that want to make the Ag industry the best it can be at all times,” said Little.
Little is serving as an officer for Carnegie FFA, which he has done for several years, but it’s not the only thing Little has going on.
“Currently, I am a chapter officer and have been for three years. Also, I participate in the livestock judging events,” said Little. “I have shown market lambs for the past three years.”
During his time in high school, Little has focused on FFA and all things surrounding the Ag industry. His passion for the subject is obvious when you speak to the senior. Little offers this sound advice for any student looking to join FFA.
“I would say, do not be afraid to do something new. There is something for everybody in this organization. The people are encouraging, and it will be the biggest blessing in your life,” Little said.
Little said he can always count on his family’s support.
“The biggest influence in my life is no doubt my Nanny. She has been to every stock show, even if it was in a different state. She has always been my biggest cheerleader. My great-grandfather and my mom have also been a big influence. They both keep me motivated to be a better version of myself daily,” said Little.
This summer Little plans to continue gaining as much knowledge in the farming industry as he can by working on a large farm operation.
